MediaZilla supports exporting a collection for offline viewing. The project can then be placed on a USB thumb drive or similar and provided to the viewer.
To export a collection for offline viewing, click the title of the collection in your dashboard and select "Export Offline".
This will open a screen asking you which platform you will be viewing the files on. You can build it for Windows or macOS.
Once you select a platform, it will indicate that build is in process. You can build for both platforms simultaneously. You may close the window after initiating the build.
When you export a collection for offline viewing, we compile a program that runs on either Windows or Mac. The collection looks and functions identical to the website version but does not require any internet connection.
THIS PROGRAM WILL ONLY WORK ON A COMPUTER. For TV or mobile viewing, please use the MediaZilla apps which provide a much better viewing experience.
We will also be releasing a download option within our apps that will provide another method of offline viewing and will become the recommended offline method.
Currently, 4K viewing is not available with this offline collection. Only resolutions up to HD will be provided with the download.
Once we finish compiling the collection, you will receive an email notification to download a zip file. Once downloaded, please extract all the contents.
To launch the collection on Windows or Mac, open the file with the same title as your collection by double-clicking it. The file should have a MediaZilla "Z" icon.
For macOS users: If the zip file is greater than 4 GB you will need to use a third-party program as Mac’s default extraction program, 'Archive Utility' does not support files over 4 GB.
Install The Unarchiver (free program). Alternatively you can use BetterZip (not free) if you encounter issues with The Unarchiver.
